Not only do you set your preferred speed, but you also set the distance between your vehicle and the traffic in front of you. - Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. If sensors detect traffic ahead is moving at a slower rate than you are, you will be alerted to slow down. If you don’t slow down, sensors charge your brakes so that when you decide to change course, you have more braking capability than you would otherwise.
