The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Proves its Rugged Reputation at the 24th Annual “Mudfest”

Jeep is a brand that’s known for its tough vehicles. And the Jeep Wrangler? It’s the toughest SUV in the automaker’s lineup. Drawing design elements straight from the original Jeep produced for the Army in the 1940s, the Wrangler provides a rugged level of performance that nothing else in the industry can match. Rough roads, bad weather, off-roading; there’s nothing this SUV can’t handle.

If you need proof, look no further than the events of this year’s “Mudfest.” A competition hosted by the Northwest Automotive Press Association, it pits vehicles against each other in tests design to evaluate their power and ability.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler swept the event, winning awards in the Compact/Mid-Size Utility class and the Extreme Capability class. It also took home the event’s top honors, winning the “Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year” award.

“Jeep has taken the Wrangler to a new level, adding safety, technology and on-road refinement to its unparalleled off-road prowess,” said NWAPA president John Vincent. “NWAPA members were impressed by the Wrangler’s performance both on and off the road.”

Offering an expanded design with more interior features than ever before, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler has also distinguished itself with new engine options. These include a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that offers improved torque and ample horsepower. With high ground clearance and a bevy of performance-driven features, there’s a reason that the Wrangler continues to be the top choice for drivers who view the road as optional.
