The 5.7-liter V8 run by natural gas is included on the regular cab and crew cab/rear-wheel-drive models for 2016. In addition, the top-tier Laramie Limited trim has an upgraded exterior in 2016 models. In the 2016 year, the RAM 2500 offers many different set ups for the interior cabin and also offers different powertrain and box length options. The new RAM 2500 is available in three different cab styles: two-door regular cab, four-door crew cab and a four-door jumbo crew cab ("Mega Cab"). The two-door regular cab is equipped with an 8-foot bed only and the crew cab gives buyers the option to choose between a long bed or a 6-foot-4 short bed. In addition, the Mega Cab and crew cab models drive on the same wheelbase. There are a total of seven different trim options for the RAM 2500: The Tradesman, SLT, Big Horn/Lone Star, Outdoorsman, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn and Laramie Limited.
Under the 2500's Hood
There are three different engine options in 2016 for the RAM 2500. The engine options are: 5.7-liter V8 gasoline engine, a 6.4-liter V8 and a turbocharged 6.7-liter diesel-fueled inline six-cylinder.The 5.7 gasoline engine comes standard on all RAM models and drives with 383 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. In addition, this engine is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 6.4 liter V8 drives with 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque and is also equipped with a six speed automatic just like the 5.7 engine. The third engine option, 6.7 liter drives with 350 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque. This engine is available with a six-speed automatic or manual transmission. Each engine option has a very strong performance when driving. The 2016 RAM 2500 can carry 3,990 pounds in the truck bed and can haul 17,980 pounds while driving. Most of the trim levels for the 2500 is offered with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The Tradesman and Power Wagon models are only available in four-wheel drive.
Design of RAM 2500
The RAM 2500 has subtle materials with beautiful stitching throughout the interior of the cabin. The seats of the truck have spacious legroom and reclining seat backs. The interior cargo storage is equipped with a number of bins and pockets for extra storage space. There is a RamBox feature that has a lock aspect to it and is placed over the rear fenders. There is an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen interface as an upgrade for some RAM 2500 models.
